Anubis (Npu, Enpu, Anpu) is one of the most famous Kemetic (Ancient Egyptian) gods because he was revered as the embalmer of the dead and one who weighed the truth of the heart against a feather to determine one's worth in the afterlife. One of his praise names was Ap-Uat, which translates to Opener of the Way, thus making him a messenger and trickster spirit. Similar to his Yoruba cousin Ellegua and Kongo kin Lucero Mundo (Nkuyu).

Anubis witnesses everything, which is why he played a prominent role in determining one’s worth in the afterlife. Metaphysically Anubis corresponds to our beliefs and the 8th sphere (Hod/Sebek) on the Tree of Life. Therefore, he is given regular offerings to ensure that our beliefs do not portray us in the end.

Similar to the Hindu god Ganesha, this statue of Anubis is perfect for any home or office, especially entryways , 12"
